Hammer-head and hook-head screws, often also known as HALFEN screws, are used together with mounting or anchor channels to fasten accessories or loads.

The type 20/12 hammer-head screw is inserted into the profile rail and securely anchored by turning it through 90 degrees. The special hammerhead design ensures a positive connection that is characterised by high load-bearing capacity and stability. Moving the screw in the profile rail groove allows flexible positioning before it is finally tightened.

It is customary in the industry to categorise the screws into different types, which do not indicate the head dimensions but the suitability for the respective profile or profile type. A list of which type of screw is suitable for which profile can be found in the downloads.

The advantages at a glance:
Quick installation: no pre-drilling required.
High load-bearing capacity: the special head shape and large contact surface ensure a high load-bearing capacity.
Flexibility: the screw can be moved in the profile rail at any time and also subsequently for fine adjustment
Reusability: hammer-head screws can be loosened and reused as required.

Functionality and application:
The main advantage of hammer-head and hook-head screws is that they can be positioned and inserted at any point in the profile. The head of the screw automatically hooks into the profile when it is rotated by 90 degrees and forms a tight fit with the rail lip. This means that the screw head does not need to be accessible from the outside when it is subsequently screwed into the profile with a nut.

An additional advantage is that these screws can be loosened again at any time, precisely aligned and re-fixed or removed without the need for special tools. A mark on the underside of the thread indicates the correct alignment of the screw head in the mounting rail. The precise fit and the large support surface of the screw head in the profile ensure high stability and load-bearing capacity.

This means that extremely strong, flexible and cost-effective connections can be made quickly. The hammer-head screw type 20/12 is therefore a superior fastening solution that offers time savings, flexibility and versatility.
